The making

Nine months on a pit loom, one saree at a time

A Kanchipuram border is woven separately and joined to the body by hand, thread by thread, in a technique called korvai. Pull at the join and the fabric will tear before it parts. It is slower, costlier and entirely unnecessary — which is precisely why it is worth doing.

Our weavers

Four generations at one loom

We buy directly from weaving families in Kanchipuram, Varanasi and Chanderi — no middlemen, no power-loom substitutes. Every saree carries the name of the household that made it, and a fair price paid before it ever reaches you.
